The Man Overboard
A public house on Fore Street in the Old Town, low-beamed and loud, where Agnes Pollard pulled the pints in 1953. On Lantern Night the room was so full that the only surviving photograph shows nothing but a blur of faces.
The landlord’s grandson still runs it, and still tells his grandfather’s three stories about Silas Penhallow, never the same way twice.
